How much does a cleaning robot cost?

Direct answer
Key facts
- Compact restaurant and studio machines sit at the lowest price point.
- Large-area warehouse scrubbers sit at the highest — and pay back fastest.
- RaaS removes the upfront cost and bundles support, maintenance and updates.
- Consumables (brushes, pads, filters, solution) are quoted separately in all models.
- Survey, mapping, installation and training are one-off costs, included on RaaS.
- Typical UK payback on purchase is 12 to 24 months.
The four things that move the price
Any quote you receive should be traceable to these four variables. If it is not, ask why.
- Cleaning width and tank capacity — how much floor per charge
- Function — single-function scrubbing versus vacuum, sweep, mop and scrub combined
- Lift and door integration for multi-floor operation
- Fleet management and reporting across multiple machines or sites
How to test whether the price is right for you
Take the hours per week actually spent on open-floor cleaning — not total cleaning hours. Multiply by your fully loaded hourly cost including employer NI, holiday pay, pension and any agency margin. Multiply by 4.33 for a monthly figure.
If that number is comfortably above the monthly cost of the robot, the deployment is cash-flow positive. If it is not, the machine is too large for the site or the site is too small for a machine — and a good supplier will tell you that before quoting.
Related questions
How much does a cleaning robot cost in the UK?
Cost is driven by machine size, cleaning function, tank capacity and lift integration. Fresh Mango Robotics quotes outright purchase, a hybrid arrangement, or a fixed monthly Robotics-as-a-Service fee including support and maintenance, priced against a surveyed site rather than a published list price.
Why do robotics suppliers not publish prices?
Because two sites with identical floor areas can need very different machines depending on obstacle density, floor type, trading hours and lift access. A published price would only ever describe the simplest possible site.
What are the running costs of a commercial cleaning robot?
Consumables — brushes, pads, filters and cleaning solution — plus support and maintenance, and a negligible amount of water and electricity. On RaaS, support and maintenance sit inside the monthly fee.
Is a cleaning robot cheaper than a cleaner?
On large hard-floor areas cleaned daily, the monthly cost is typically below the fully loaded cost of the hours displaced. On small or infrequently cleaned sites it is not, and we will say so.
